  1. Hi I’ve been following your trip as we are soon hiking the JMT. The blog is great! What shoes are you wearing in the Sierra?

    1. Hi. I’m wearing La Sportiva Core High GTX boots. I switched from trail runners to boots so that I could use crampons. I was also hoping my feet would stay a little warmer and drier, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. The Gortex seems to keep my feet dry for half the day. But the inside starts to get wet after hours in snow and water, and they are very difficult to dry out.
